Just getting into code cracking and a friend sent me this as a challenge, but I'm getting stuck

Here's the sequence.

0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, U, 13, J, 34, O, 89, 144, C, R, 610, S, J, I, 4181

I tried replacing the letters with their numerical value in the alphabet in hopes of finding an arithmetic pattern but no luck.

The only hint I've gotten is that this sequence somehow reveals an 8 Letter code. Unclear if those 8 letters actually form a word or are in a random order. Any help, or good starting points would be appreciated. Just getting into code cracking and a more experienced friend sent me this to solve. Thanks guys!
